As Malaysia’s smartest city and one of the greenest cities, it’s important to keep a low carbon footprint. That’s why there are more bicycle lanes are being built and planned for Cyberjaya.
Cyberjaya and Putrajaya are one of the best places in Klang Valley to cycle. The cycling routes are scenic especially near the Putrajaya lake.
A few months ago, I wrote an article on 40 Awesome Things To Do in Cyberjaya and Putrajaya in which I highlighted cycling is one of the things you must experience when you’re here.
As I was travelling along Persiaran Flora in Cyberjaya today, I noticed the road has been marked with green and white paint. Upon closer inspection, it’s actually the new designated bicycle lane.
Similar marking has been made in Shaftsbury Square but it doesn’t look practical at all; probably one of the main intentions is to prevent people from double-parking, which is a common problem there.

In case you didn’t know, there’s also a dedicated bicycle path from Persiaran Tasik in Cyberjaya that connects all the way to Precinct 8 in Putrajaya. The construction started a few months ago and now they’re doing finishing touches. I hope similar path will be built from Cyber Heights to Putrajaya Marina.
It’s great to know that some roads are being made as bicycle friendly. It proves that Cyberjaya is already one of Malaysia’s most liveable cities.
